US Movie Companies Go After The Pirate Bay - Again

Today more than ten major movie companies issued a subpoena to the Stockholm District Court demanding it put an end to the activities of The Pirate Bay. The companies, including Disney, Universal, Warner, Columbia, Sony, NBC and Paramount also want the court to force the site's ISP to shut down the site.

Despite losing in court against the music and movie industries, The Pirate Bay continues to operate, a clearly unacceptable situation for the plaintiffs in the case. The verdict is subject to appeal and that could make the whole thing drag on for years yet.

Flying Buggy Goes From Highway to Jungle in No Time | Autopia | Wired.com

OSHKOSH, Wisconsin With so many cool, cutting edge airplanes at this weeks AirVenture show in Oshkosh, its easy to focus on new engines, sleek bodies and flashy takeoffs. But in the case of the I-Tec Maverick, the planes purpose and its builders mission is as impressive as the vehicle itself.

bug_airventure6With its 128 horsepower Subaru engine, no-frills cloth exterior and rear-mounted propeller, you wouldnt call the Maverick sexy. The beauty isnt in what the Maverick looks like, but what it can do. The 1,000-pound flying buggy was designed and built exclusively to reach disadvantaged people in remote jungle areas.

The Maverick can, in just minutes, switch between driving, off-roading, floating and flying. That makes it just the thing for reaching remote areas deep in jungles, forests or disaster zones. Whether you call it a flying car, a floating plane, or a ATV hybrid, the Maverick brings new meaning to the word versatility.

HTC T-Mobile myTouch 3G | Wired.com Product Reviews

Android Phone Redux Is a Massive Upgrade

Hey, this Android thing may take off after all!

After wowing virtually no one with the hacker's delight T-Mobile G1 (one of the most egregiously ugly phones ever to hit the market) T-Mobile and manufacturer HTC have spent nearly a year re-educating themselves about what a cellphone should look like and how it should work. The result of that hard work is the myTouch 3G, a vastly better cell phone that finally gives the more mature handsets on the market a run for their money.

The most immediately noticeable thing about the myTouch 3G is its new styling. Gone is the clumsy, Sidekick-like chassis of the G1, replaced with a classic, scalloped shell and more importantly a much smaller size. At just 4.1 ounces it's tiny in comparison to the G1 (though the screen is almost the same size, at 3.2 inches diagonally), easily fitting in a pocket and comfortable to hold.
