Google Zeitgeist

What does this say about the mentality of the average UK internet user?
The Google Zeitgeist lists the top 10 most popular search terms for the United Kingdom in the last 12 months as follows:

facebook
bbc
youtube
you
games
ebay
hotmail
weather
yahoo
bebo

7 of those are domain names. If you want to go to Facebook surely you don't have to go searching for it on Google.
Crikey just typing facebook into the browser address bar will get you there.

Comtrend Homeplugs

They really do just work. The two I won on eBay fetched up in the post today. One hooked into the router and the other one connects the Mac Mini by the TV into the network. And this streams video from the old Cube very nicely indeed. Much smoother than over wifi. And this post is from the Blackberry.

T Shirts by Microsoft

Just in time for Christmas.
Microsoft is trying to be cool by in part enlisting the dubious design talents of some obscure US rapper and a high flying ad agency.

Sod the fact Vista is so unpopular it will soon be available in Woolworths remainder bins, instead of fixing it, or at least apologising for it, they are wasting time getting into the rag trade.

Just don't wear one while driving, it may crash unexpectedly.

OK so it's a blog.....

I've had blogs before but I lead such an uninteresting life there is rarely anything worth writing home about.
So let's see what did I do today. Drove out into the back of beyond fens to visit a client to talk over revisions to his web site. The Shogun is now even more mud splattered, I guess it's about time for it's annual wash down but it's so damn cold out there I can't face it. Maybe in the spring or perhaps one of those car wash jockies in the supermarket car park.
Drove back home, had lunch, cold roast lamb sandwich and a mug of hot Marmite, did a spot of work and then started faffing about with Ubuntu. Which is even more reluctant to wifically connect to the network than Windows is. So I'm looking at some Comtrend powerline adaptors on eBay. JbidWatcher is set to snipe on a couple of listings this evening.
Curry for dinner, followed by mince tarts and cream and a bottle of red wine. Last episode of Spooks and possibly Wallender on the TV.
